Liverpool Women’s Health Centre Building Project

The building project has been made possible through a grant provided by the Community Building Partnership program & is an exciting milestone in the Liverpool Women’s Health Centre history of providing quality health services to the women of Liverpool for the past 35 years.
The first floor addition has
- Addressed the cramped staff work space by the expansion of staff office areas and a dedicated manager’s office. Office space can also be utilized by increasing student placement requests e.g. TAFE, social work, arts and medicine.
- Provided the addition of two interview rooms to be used for counselling and assessment of crisis and walk-in clients.
- Provided an additional group/training room that will expand available group room space to three rooms creating additional opportunities, for example to work in partnership with community partners particularly SSWAHS Bi-lingual Community Educators, NSW Refugee Health, Liverpool Migrant Resource Centre in meeting the specific needs of refugee and newly arrived migrant women.
The centre has easy access for everyone in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. The organisation endeavours to install a lift within the centre to allow access for disabled and less mobile clients and staff between first and ground floor.
At this stage, we have not been able to secure funding for the installation of a lift. All services and activities will be offered on the ground floor so that no person with walking difficulties or sensory impairments, wheelchair users and people with young children will be disadvantaged.
